Looking for something "Northern" to do? Visiting the area? Working up here? Planning a trip to the area? Just want to try snowmobiling? Try before you buy! We offer a variety of guided Tours in the area for the beginner (1 hr), less experienced rider (~2 hours), the intermediate rider (3-4 hours) to the more experienced snowmobile enthusiast (6-8 hours). All tours include a snowmobile, experienced Guide, DOT Helmet, safety overview, fuel, mileage, and Snopass.
Great for beginners, families and less experienced riders. Your guide will give you an introduction of the machine, operational safety overview and make sure you are comfortable before you hit the trails. Let us take you around the Thompsons City perimeter on the trail locally known as the “City Trail”. Ride as a single or double (add $50 for passenger)
Duration: 2h (~1.5 h ride time)
Sleds: 500/600 cc trail sleds
Departure: Friday, Saturday & Sunday (Weekdays upon request)
For beginners/intermediate riders, your guide will give you an introduction of the machine, operational safety overview and make sure you are comfortable before you hit the trails. Let us take you on the "Ospwagon Trail". Ride as a single or double (add $50 for passenger)
Duration: 2 h (~1.5 h ride time)
Sleds: 600 cc trail sleds
Departure: Fridays, Saturday & Sundays, (Weekdays upon request)
For the intermediate rider, this 3 hour tour is on the trail locally known as the "Nickel Trail". This run goes around the footprint of the Vale mine. Skidoos will be launched near the train station and the adventure begins.
Duration: 2 h (~1.5 h ride time)
Sleds: 600 cc trail sleds
Departure: Fridays, Saturday & Sundays (Weekdays upon request)
For the intermediate rider, this 3 hour ride is on the trail locally known as the "Moak Lake Trail". This run takes you to the ski hill known as Mystery Mountain, and around Moak Lake (MWAUKO) & Mystery Lake (PITHIWAPAHK), primarily a forested trail ride with a brief river crossing. Skidoos will be launched North of the Miles Hart bridge and the adventure begins.
Duration: 3 h (~2.5 h ride time)
Sleds: 600 cc trail sleds
Departure: Fridays, Saturday & Sundays (weekdays upon request)
For the intermediate rider, this 3-4 hour ride is on the trail locally known as the "Paint Lake Trail". This run includes a combo of forested trails, and lake riding. Skidoos will be launched near the miner statue and the adventure begins.
Duration: 4 h (3 h ride time)
Sleds: 600cc trail sleds
Departure: Fridays, Saturday & Sundays (weekdays available upon request)
For the more experienced snowmobile enthusiast, this back country run is a 6-8 hour round trip. Located 75 km NW of Thompson - in the heart of Nisichawayasihk Cree Nation Territory - this trip includes optional road transportation to the community Nelson House. Skidoos will be launched outside Nelson House and the Adventure begins to one of the areas remote pristine lakes called Leftrook Lake. Minimum group of 3 bookings for trip to go - please contact
Our experienced and certified guides will take you out and show you around the Thompson area. From known trails to unmarked areas, we can accommodate your needs and customize a tour or general guiding. We like to keep our groups small with a 1:5 ratio of guide to guests.
